Almost every public or private sector organisation can benefit from our services, as virtually every organisation in New Zealand must comply with the Privacy Act (1993). This Act requires government agencies and companies to have appropriate strategies, policies and processes in place to ensure compliance with the wide ranging requirements for collection, storage, use, disclosure, access to, and disposal of personal information.

The Privacy Act also requires every organisation to have a Privacy Officer who is responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance with the information 12 privacy principles
  • Ensuring compliance with all other provisions of the Act
  • Dealing with requests made to the organisation under the Act
  • Working with the Privacy Commissioner in relation to investigations
